Fast, Light, Sharp and Cheap – The Canon 50mm f/1.8 EF II Lens

www.robnunnphoto.com The EF 50mm f belongs in the camera bag of every Canon photographer – it’s Canon’s cheapest lens, yet this great little prime offers sharp images, great low-light capability and fantastic selective focus options. The 50mm is more like the 35mm equivalent of an 80mm on a crop sensor camera, it’s slightly telephoto, so you’ll find yourself moving back a little if you’re into landscapes – but it’s a great portrait focal length. Build quality isn’t the best – but what do you expect for £100? Get one, stick it on your camera and have some fun. Cheers, Rob. Oh, and did I mention it’s cheap? ;-)

DIY photography equipment: Laptop holder for photography tripod

SmokingStrobes.com In this video I introduce you to a valuable piece of DIY photography equipment it’s the thing you use to hang your laptop onto your tripod when shooting tethered to your digital camera. I searched for something like this in photography equipment shops for a while but was not able to find it. So I went the Do It Yourself route – and it worked quite well. The holder I am going to show you comes literally at a shoestring budget. It’s a nice prop for your home photo studio. It is really easy to make. I am really not good on homemade DIY photography equipment, so if I can do it – anybody can. Check out more cool photography ideas: SmokingStrobes.com
