I use a Sennheiser wireless lavaliere mic (hidden under my sweater, by the breast bone), and shoot with a small, inexpensive Canon HD camera (HFR200) that the audio receiver plugs directly into. Sometimes I use a lavalier mic that I’ve hidden in the top of a ball point pen, and it sits in my pocket. Since starting to make videos, I sometimes used an MP3 player to record sounds and voice parts particularly if doing split screen. You can record one part and play it back through an earpiece when recording the second part so you can time it properly. Since I gave my MP3 away to my elderly neighbour I missed this. Then I came accross Tekhseven’s excellent video on how to use your mobile phone as a wireless microphone. I’ll show you how to use the captured audio in Sony Vegas to match up and synch with your video although any editing program should be the same. I use bluetooth facility to send the recorded voice clips from the phone to my laptop. www.youtube.com
