I have video camera i am using as a webcam and the camera has a built in microphone but it doesn’t work(the mic) it is plugged in through USB.

Since starting to make videos, I sometimes used an MP3 player to record sounds and voice parts particularly if doing split screen. You can record one part and play it back through an earpiece when recording the second part so you can time it properly. Since I gave my MP3 away to my elderly neighbour I missed this. Then I came accross Tekhseven’s excellent video on how to use your mobile phone as a wireless microphone. I’ll show you how to use the captured audio in Sony Vegas to match up and synch with your video although any editing program should be the same.
